Awning - opens and closes

*ABOUT THE OBJECT:
When I needed some nice old fashioned awning for my sim, I could find a few nice ones but they all cost too many prims and were just for show, they couldn't be opened and closed.
So I decided to make my own, awnings that could actually close and open and because there is always a prim shortage, I made sure they would have only 1 prim land impact!
I'm using a script that makes part of the awning invisible when you open it.
*ABOUT ME:
I am a Dutch woman obsessed with history, in RL I am a researcher.
Europe in the first half of the 20th century, inspires me especially Germany during the Weimar Republic (1918-1933).
The objects I create are especially made for The 1920s Berlin Project sim where many of the tenants often have to live in small houses and bad neighbourhoods.

*SCALE:
Most avatars and Sims in SL have a totally unrealistic scale.
My avatar is about 6ft, just like I am in RL, compared to most avatars in SL I look like a child.
I build a sim in a more realistic scale and compared to SL in general things here are small.
That means that the objects I make are made for realistic avatars, if they seem small to you this probably is because you are big.
However, you can make these sofas bigger and adjust the animations to fit any size of avatar.
But because they are mesh, the land impact may go up when you enlarge them.
*INSTRUCTIONS
-Rezz the item called 'Awning - opens and closes' from the folder in your inventory with the same name.
-Right click and select 'edit' to move it or rotate into the desired position by clicking and moving the coloured arrows.
-Use this same window to change the size by selecting stretch.
-Once the awning is in position, simply left click it to open or close it.
-Texture:
You can easily change the texture of the awning to customize it.
Simply drag a texture from your inventory onto the part of the awning you want to change, make sure you do the same to both the closed and open version.
-You can also experiment as much as you want but it is a good idea to make a copy first so you can always keep an original in your inventory.

*ABOUT MESH
If you make Mesh items bigger, they will usually start having a bigger land impact and cost you more prims.
The item should look good but from a certain distance it may look distorted.
To make sure you see mesh in SL at well as possible, you may need to change the settings of your viewer.
This generally isn't needed but if you think that mesh often looks a bit bad, you may try this;
-Click ctrl+D to add the 'advanced' tab to the options at the top of your screen.
-Click 'show debug settings'
-In the Debug Settings look for 'MeshMaxConcurrentRequests' and change the value to 128, this will not have an impact on how SL will work for you but it will make mesh look better.
-Sometimes you can make the land impact go down by linking mesh items, but sometimes the land impact go up.

Perfect Awning
This awning is wonderful. Very easy to texture. Just drag the texture you want to the section on the awning. Stretches beautifully with no loss. Folds up. Just remember to texture it when it is folded too. Worth every penny. Thank you!
