These blinds don't actually 'open' the way you might think - when it says 'open', it means 'lift up' or 'pull down'.
The slats are slightly open when you hang them - as you can see in the picture - and you can't close them the way you'd normally close venetian blinds.
Having said that, they're not bad blinds - they do have a slightly 'messy' look about them and they're easily resized without any drama at all.
