Initial Release

Description:
=========
Ever been flying around or just took off from your favourite airport, but then have trouble to find another airport on the map or the next closest one? I have and from there AirGPS was born.

AirGPS is a global positioning system that works grid wide to point you in the direction of the airport of your selection, meaning no matter if its 2 sims or 40 sims away, this HUD will point you in the right direction. You can also get the closest airport to you and using the arrow buttons on the HUD and see what airport is further away from your current position, giving a great opportunity to pick an airport and fly toward it. With that, you can also use the directory selection to select an airport from a list or even select one by continent.

AirGPS will also display the distance to the airport from your current position and the continent you and the airport is located on. This includes showing you if the two continents are connected so that you can fly there.

A list with 50 airports over most of the continents are included, but you can make your own list in a notecard and load in the HUD. This is made easy with a position function that will give you all the information of your current location that you can add to the notecard.

Also, free updates!

Features:
========
Grid wide GPS system.
Able to detect closest airport.
Shows Distance, Continents and Connection information.
Easy-to-create notecard system to make your own lists.
*Resizeable.
Free Updates

*The resize script is not the laggy type that is found in several hairs and prim clothing items with a script in each prim. This script is one script that does the whole job very well and lag free. This is all thanks to Brilliant Scientist in his Linkset resizer script. I have adapted his script to work with this HUD.
You can find his script FREE here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linkset_resizer_with_menu

Instructions
========
Please see the PDF document below for the instructions.

Be Aware:
========
-The pointer only refreshes every second, but since flying in a plane does not allow sharp turns, that should be no problem. This is done to prevent lag.
-Be smart when adding airports as having something like 200 airports will take time to load and might lag a bit. There is nothing I can do about that as I have optimised the script and data needed from the notecards as much as I can. I am constantly looking into improving scripts, so if I ever can improve this, I will. Please see the PDF below for more information.
-The closest function does not update on its own. This is also to prevent lag since trying to find the closest airport every second or so causes strain on the HUD. In addition, when you fly around, the closest airport might change constantly if you are between two airports, and will only confuse the user, so there is no point in enabling auto refresh. If you have a lot of airports, it might take a while for the HUD to load the closest airport, so be patient.
-Anything outside of the main SL continents will count as “None”. I might add some bigger communities in future updates.

I saw this and also many others, I already had a free gps that was unsupported with updates but felt it was not doing what I needed it to do. Anyway I decided to buy this and am so pleased I did. It comes preloaded with the landing point position of many airports across all the Mainland sims in Secondlife, and not only this but you can update the notecard inside it when you find new airports to add to your ever growing list. Just goto the end of the runway where you land and take a note of the co-ordinates, then you can drop them along with the name of the airport and continent into the notecard and update the list when you save it. Simple but cleverly done. You get the exact co-ordinate of landing point and also the altitude of the runway so no longer should you find yourself hurling towards a wall too low to make the runway without enough throttle to abort.

If your new to flying this tool will get you to all the great airports just follow the arrow on the hud how simple is that. If your a grid flier or explorer this is a must have tool. This is nothing less than 5 stars. If you been around awhile you know airports come and go but AirGPS is here to stay because it sets high standards of what SL flying is all about. AirGPS will get to places you can only dream of. Let fun begin.
