The Master Spell Book comes with both and animated and unanimated version. To use the animated version you must be able to rez objects. (Also, the object will list as no modify due to scripts but it mod.)

Floats, but there's 0 control over where/how high
I thought this might be a good book to set next to my character while he's lounging, so it looked like he was reading hands-free. Unfortunately, the scripts used in this are not a simple up and down bob/float. When you rez it, it shoots up into the air. I tried to move it closer to the ground, so that my character could actually appear to read it, but it just jumps right back up to the height it was before. It must be physical, because when I stuck it under the floor (thinking maybe it is set to jump a particular distance and maybe I could get it closer to my av's face) it was stuck under the floor. I looked for some way in the hud to set the distance from the floor, but there is nothing. Two stars because it *does* float and the color hud works, just don't expect to be able to position it in a particular spot.
