A good alternative to the Oculi Eyes!
I'm one of those that used the Oculi Eyes and used them for about a year. I sang it's praises, recommended them, etc. However, once the PBR stuff came out, the eyes definitely looked outdated and so I was on the market for a replacement since that product hasn't had an update (seemingly) since it's release (it's still on v1.0).
Given that this was the only other one I could find with a workable demo, I decided to run them through my rigorous tests with glossiness, changing environments, and the like and compared them with the Oculi. Face selecting of the mesh to modify them to fit my shape was a breeze (just like Oculi) and that glossiness really makes the eye seem more real. Tbh, I prefer the the regular light catch from the glossiness than the transparent overlay of the lens highlight—but that's just me! Plus that light catch will follow the eye mesh since it's actual light rather than just another transparency layer. Kudos on that!
Overall the tests seemed to be a direct upgrade of the Oculi apart from the Oculi having a kit to create your own textures. However, given how this system is being regularly maintained—I find THAT to be more important. Plus with the eye tinting one can tint the additional textures if they like the look of the iris, but not like the color they're in.
The only caveat is that there's not a heterochromia feature present (at the time of writing this) other than possibly the BOM eyes (or I'm blind). If that gets put into the system then this would 100% be able to replace the Oculi eyes completely.
I did buy the verticle slit pupils and while they don't realistically dilate (vertical pupils will stretch sideways when the iris dilates), I understand why given how the system seems to work. Honestly, it's a good compromise if someone is looking to replace their Oculi eyes.
Couldn't be happier.
These are amazing well done and light years ahead of every other.Once you get used to customizing your eyes you'll -never see the same again. There's very little competeting in this market.I wore another pair of eyes for 10 mins.Driving me nuts that fast.Hands down no better I've seen to date.
They look really good
Only con is that i can not move where my avatar is looking, it looks straight all the time, searching for a solution.
Waste of money
Sorry but these are just not worth the money. The sclera looks like way too white and totally unrealistic. The textures are also plastic looking. Very disappointed.
Awesome!
Would be even better if there was rigged versions for the major head brands (Catwa, Genus, etc) but aside from that no complaints!
