The Ladby Ship - Viking Longship

The boat replicates the Ladby Ship found in a burial mound in Fyn's Land. The beautiful slender ship was designed for coastal sailing and mainly propelled by oars.

This boat is scripted to provide the best sailing experience on Second Life waters. A newly developed script implements full natural sailing physics.

The ship is steered using the keyboard, assisted by a HUD controller. You have control of the motor, sails, wind speed, and direction and get a set of advanced instruments to help you navigate.

The ship moves realistically and has turning sails, sounds, and splashing waves. Row animations and oars are included. The owner is the only person who can control the ship.

The ship is contained in the HUD delivered to you on purchase. You have to attach the HUD order to rez the boat. The HUD connects to the vessel and functions as a sail/motor controller.

The pilot (SITS BY CLICKING THE RUDDER)
Rowers (sit on the red seats)
Passengers (sit on the brown chairs)

Alle rowing and passenger seats are animated!

The boat has physical boundaries and can be walked upon when not sailing.

HUD Controls:
MOTOR SPEED – This display shows the speed in RPM.
BOAT SPEED – This is the actual forward speed of the boat in meters/sec.
APPARENT WIND SPEED – This is the speed of the wind for the boat in meters/sec. This is the actual wind that is used by the sails to push the boat forwards.
BEARING – This is the direction in which the boat is sailing in a range of 0-360 degrees. It is the boat's main compass.

SAIL DIRECTION – This is the angle of the sail with respect to the boat direction and wind direction.
SELECT MOTOR – Pressing this button will lower the sails and use the boat's motor drive.
SELECT SAILS – Pressing this button will raise the sails and use the Second Life wind initially. It will set the motor to zero.

Round RED or GREEN light:
It is used to show or hide the oars.

WIND DIRECTION SET – These four buttons can set a preset wind from the North, South, East, or West direction.

I roleplay on an ancient sim as I Viking ship captain. This ship can carry rowers and passengers. You can adjust the wind direction and speed to get you where you need to go. It uses sail and oars as you need. It is well built and looks good.
