Instructions for builders:
#1. Create the climb up ball, drop in the animations ans scripts, set permissions.
#2. Create the slide down ball, drop in the animations ans scripts, set permissions.
#3. Create the rope: any length from 5 to 100 meters, drop the balls and script into it
#4. Positioning
~Test the rope by touching it to rez the climbing balls
~rotate the rope on the Z axis to change where the avatar "dismounts" and test again
~link the rope into your builds, it can be a child prim

This is the best rope climbing system/script/animation for builders that I've found in SL!
That said, the price (L$6000 at the time) is the reason it gets only 4 stars instead of 5. No matter how you put it, that's very expensive for a single component to go on a whole building project.
However, IT WORKS exactly as the seller describes. Setting it up is very easy. The 4-steps instructions you see above are all you really need (but it does come with very detailed instructions). It's that easy. Just keep in mind to make the names of the objects ("climb up", "slide down") all lower-case. I had to re-do mine a couple of times because I kept using upper-case first letters and it doesn't like that.
So, if climbing a rope is a key component of whatever you're building, I recommend this product.
