CMcA Parcel Media Controller (Builders Edition)
by Camden McAndrews

This media center is full permissions, including the scripts and textures. It features shelves filled with hundreds of DVD's and a nice rack of media playback equipment including power supplies, signal conditioners, and other electronic arcana.

All the textures are included. You will find them inside the media controller object.

The blocks that make up the DVD's are a separate object, so you can put your own stuff on the shelves if you like.

THE MEDIA SCRIPT: I've included the media controller script and the notecard with all the media sources you'll find right now at Xanadu Cinema. The script is full permissions. It used to work great but after the demise of Flash, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't; and I have not yet learned how to make parcel media work reliably in this new era. So if you want to sell this as a media controller, you'll want to make sure you have a working system.

Because it includes a no-transfer animation, the Media controller will appear to be no-transfer in your inventory. If you want to sell with the animation, you'll need to buy your own builder version. The one animation, called "Lounge" in this object, is really "roman-recline-r-f" by Sylva Petrov, available full permissions to builders at Sylva's Animation Factory.

END USER LICENSE: Oh, you know the drill: Don't sell or give away this item with both copy and transfer permissions, and don't sell it just as is. If you make substatial changes to it, you are welcome to sell your own version of it. Or you could include it with a house or some other building where it makes sense.

The in-world slurl takes you to Xanadu Cinema in Nightfield, where you can see and play with the media controller in the theater auditorium.

BUILDER'S NOTE: I put the textures inside the media center object, and if you remove them from the object (as you ought to do if you're going to sell this thing, or at least change their permissions), the simulator will forget it knew the texture. You can fix that by reapplying the textures as you normally would when building something.

Silliness: HOW THAT ONE POSE ENDED UP IN THERE

Once upon a time, several of us gathered to watch a movie at home. We didn't have enough seats for all the avatars, so, instead of rezzing a chair or something, Anja dropped a script and Sylva's animation (which we are both licensed to use) into my media center and parked her avatar on top of it. :)

Sometimes you just see something and fall in love with it. This was that thing for me. The creator is so lovely and super helpful. One of the best most humble creators I have ever spoken to in SL. Thank you. I wish you all the best with this super product. You deserve much success.
