Candle Script with Touch On/Off and Micro-prim Wick. Extremely easy to use! No scripting knowledge required!
Want to build your own candles for resale, but need a GOOD particle flame script with touch On/Off? Well, look no further! This script not only turns the particle flames On/Off, it also turns On/Off the lighting feature in the wick prim! So, your items can be used to provide lighting effects, and not just a plain particle flame with no light.
This script will provide a very realistic candle flame with a realistic ambient light level and when installed in the root prim of the candle (preferably the wick), you need only touch the candle to turn it On/Off. If your wick is not the root prim of the candle, touching the wick itself will extinguish or ignite the flame.
I have included a sample candle and a micro-prim wick with the script already installed. The candle itself is Copy/Modify/No Transfer and is intended as an example build. The wick and script are Full Perm. The script is included both in the wick and separately in the packing crate.
Why use a wick? Simple - ease of construction of your candles. A typical particle script emanates particles from the center of the prim, unless you change the script to have the particles come from a different point. This means that, every time you create a new candle, you must edit the script to adjust for the position of the flame. By using a micro-prim wick, like this one, you need only place the wick where you want the flame - no editing scripts. Make the wick the root prim of your candle and you need only click the candle to turn on/off the flame.
You may use this script in your own builds for reselling or giving as gifts; but, your items must be provided with either Copy/No Transfer or No Copy/Transfer permissions. The script itself MUST be distributed with No Modify permissions.
