According to SL`s terms of service, you always need
to make people aware, that the chat is recorded. So
i have added a sign to the package, that says:
"Attention! Chat on this parcel is recorded!"
Please put up this sign!
If you have a bigger parcel, you can set up as
many devices as you want to receive all chat. Even
if the chat happens outside that 40 meter diameter around the device.

Maybe not perfect, but...
It works great. The chats actually get sent to local chat, not IM. Maybe it would be cool if they went to a separate IM window. Also, I can't figure out how to edit the timestamp for my zone. But, I did figure out that leaving the email address blank prevents it from sending emails. I'm still giving this 5 stars because it's Thanksgiving. :P No, really... Thanks :)

I purchased this little gadget long ago to place surveillance in my store to monitor Employee interaction. This is also great for friends of yours who think their spouse is cheating and record for evidence, sure works and it's discrete!

This thing is gold! I mean really. The price is outstanding and it works flawlessly. I had my doubts about somebody and it was really bugging me and decided this was the answer to finding out if my thoughts were right. Sure enough, this thing paid for itself within 2 days and proved me right! The ability to not only record and log but to send emails is outstanding! It captured everything!

TrigiTec has made some great products available and this is one of them. Easy to set up, comes in several different formats so that you can place it anywhere on your parcel and not arouse suspicion. I usually just use the default and make it transparent and stuff it in a corner somewhere. It is great for logging lectures and classes.
Makes a Great Scholarly Record
Trig is a great craftsman and works hard to make his product work. I use his product to provide a scholarly record of my discussions, and it does that. It is a great back up for when I crash. When people want to read a transcript of the lecture and discussion, they can.
