While I'm personally not a fan of any product I cant customize freely with copy/mod, especially the potential to lose it forever, they do have it clearly listed as such.
That aside it's seriously cheap enough to buy multiples if you're too worried. If you buy one and want to change it to a solid color you will have to give up the texture forever on that copy. The little ball at the end is separate and can be transparented to make this a really nice fisherman's beanie, the stretch is very versatile for just about any head. Even big toony ones.

With these things in mind I very much recommend this cap if this is the style you're going for.
