ClubCamera HUD Mk 1 Infocard
=====================
Ever worried about not seeing the sploder?
Ever wanted to see you favourite dancer?
And then wanted to watch the contest board?
Enter the ClubCamera HUD!
This club camera HUD allows you record camera positions and recall the camera positions at any later date. If you like to go to clubs, just record the camera position looking at the contest board, the sploder, your tip jar if you work there, or even your most favourite dancer. If you're a club owner you can even record camera positions on your staff and loop the positions to see if everything is ok.
To use it just wear it - it attaches to the top right HUD point, but if you attach it to any other HUD attach point, it'll adjust itself automatically. Click on the "store" button, then on a number button to store the current camera position in that button. For more information see below.
Please note that you can zoom around with your camera even if it is locked using the Alt key and the mouse or the cursor keys. This allows you to update your position for example. But when you zoom around, you take control over from the HUD and need to press the ESC key to get back to your stored position!
You can also minimize the HUD by clicking on the HUD handles on the left and right sides of the HUD. In the minimized position, there still are the "next" and "prev" buttons available to cycle through the positions.
I hope you like this little gadget. See also the Mk III HUDs here on XStreet. More stuff is available here on XStreet and in my shop

Please Note:
The current 1.21.x Release Candidate viewer has a bug that moves the camera when editing while being locked. It is already known to the lindens, but you can help boost it by voting on this page http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9338 (after logging in).

Usage
-------
Usage is very simple. After you attach it, you get a number of buttons on the HUD:
1-9 - 9 positions can be stored, each number is for one stored position. The button is grey if no position is stored, orange if a position is stored but not used and red if the positions stored for the button is used to lock the camera. Click on the number button to activate a position, i.e. to lock the camera at the stored position.
store - click it to store a new position on the button. When you click it, the buttons get a red border. Then click on the button you want to store the position at. That's it
update - if you use this button while a button is used to lock the camera, clicking the update button will update the button
lock/unlock - this button shows "unlock" when a button locks the camera and unlocks the camera when you click it. It then changes to "lock" and when you click it, it will lock the camera again.
clear highlights the buttons (they get a red border) and when you click on such a button, it will clear its position
clear all - clears all buttons
next - this is actually the right arrow head (triangle) - switches to the next position
prev - this is actually the left arrow head (triangle) - switches to the previous position
loop - loops over the stored positions. click once to switch all 30 seconds, twice for 10 seconds interval and three times for 5 seconds interval.
A few notes:
--------------
- This is not a camera "follow" HUD that determines how the SL camera follows your avatar Instead it is a Camera "lock" HUD that locks the camera on recorded positions.
- The HUD stores the positions over detach/attach operations. I.e. you set the position once and can recall them any time you re-attach it. It is also copyable, so you can have a HUD with specific positions set for each club you go to.
- If you record a camera position and try to recall it on a different sim, it will print a warning and it will not work
- SL has a restriction on how far away a camera position can be from your avatar. If you select a camera position outside of your distance limits, you will get strange results. You can extend the maximum camera distance with the advanced SL menu:
In the menu, open the "Advanced" menu (enable it with "Ctrl-Alt-d" if it is not yet there) then there is an entry to "Disable Camera contraints". Check it.
- The HUD is a scripted object. So it is subject to script delays, i.e. "lag", which is unfortunately very common in SL. To give the best experience attach/wear it before you enter crowded areas.
- The HUD does not work in areas where scripts are not allowed.
See item in Second LifeI work as a manager in a club. When hosting an event I want to watch the entrance to welcome visitors, check my tip jar, and have a look at the clock, the vote box, the sploder. It's so much easier using this camera HUD. Positions once set remain there until I delete them. I am able to loop them. The HUD is simple to work with and great in its results.
