What is DMS Moored Ambiance?
============================
DMS Moored Ambiance enriches your maritime experience with realistic ambient soundscapes for your sailing vessel or motor yacht.

It is a lightweight, single-script sound system that automatically plays seamless ambient Sound Packs while your boat is moored. The Shore soundpack is included. Extra Sound Pack expansions are available separately and work across your supported DMS Moored Ambiance systems.

Just one script. No pile of sound objects. Clean, simple, plug and play.

How does it operate?
====================
Once installed, it starts playing when your boat is not moving. When you start the engine or hoist sails, it stops so your boat can use its normal sailing or engine sounds. When you moor again, Moored Ambiance automatically returns.

Installation
============
1) Drag the script from inventory and drop it onto your boat.
You do not need to open the Contents tab. Drop it anywhere on the vessel. Existing older versions remove themselves during update.

2) Activate one included gesture for the menu hotkey.
Two gesture options are included, CTRL = and CTRL space. Keyboards vary, especially on laptops and different language layouts, so the gestures are full permission and easy to edit. You only need one active gesture.

Updates
=======
v1 since 2019 and has seen a few minor cosmetic updates. 8 years later, this v2 networked edition is a major rewrite with extra features using latest sl tech. We are proud to offer true lifetime free updates!

To update, drop the new script onto your boat. The DMS script will remove older versions of itself. There is never a need to dig through the contents tab of your vessel.

All DMS products include a Help menu with Send Update, Store, Landmark and News options. Updates can be delivered while you are out on the water. In-world CasperTech redelivery is also available for Marketplace purchases.

Networked soundpacks
====================
Extra soundpacks are registered to your avatar, not just one boat. Buy a pack once and it will be networked across all DMS Moored Ambiance systems in your fleet.

In-world Casper vendors will register your purchases automatically. Marketplace soundpack purchases include a small USB installer that simply registers the pack when worn or rezzed.

After buying/registeren a soundpack, press Reload in your Moored Ambiance menu. The script reloads your networked configuration from Second Life Experience KVP and updates the local cache in the boat. Your new packs then appear under Sounds.

Effects
=======
Some Sound Packs include optional visual effects. Blue Lagoon, Misty Moods and Thunder include matching ambience effects such as mist, fog or rain. When those packs are played, the menu can ask whether to enable effects now, always or never. Effects automatically turn off after 30 minutes out of professional consideration for others nearby.

Demo
====
Yes, there is a demo. Visit the in-world store and try the miniature Moored Ambiance demo boat. You can open the menu, switch packs, test volume and see how it feels from the owner side. Also, our soundpack vendors will conveniently let you hear the soundpacks you are browsing.

Technical note
==============
DMS Moored Ambiance v2 uses Second Life Experience KVP for networked configuration, purchased soundpack access and product data. The boat then caches the needed data locally with LSD, so the core script itself and playback can stay lightweight while sailing and crossing regions.

This means you get rich ambience and networked soundpack access without loading your vessel with extra objects, large script lists, or worse, those pesky notecards.
