This is a script to be placed in a MOD object that will die/remove/delete the object (it will be gone forever) on a Certain Date. Free Updates - as they come out they will be delivered to you as well.

1/ Set the DATE in the Objects Description in the format or YEAR-MM-DD (UTC Time is Used)
2016-03-20 would NOT be entered as 2016-3-20
2/ Drag the Script into the Object and Floating Text will confirm your wishes. Floating Text will be remove after 30 seconds.

If things are not right DELETE the script ASAP as it has a 120 second window before any deletes if by change you put in today's date..

If you PRESS (left click) & HOLD for 3 seconds you will get a popup dialog asking if you wish to delete/die/remove this object NOW. Answering yes will DIE this object.

* DO NOT use this in No Copy Items unless you are sure you wish to DELETE this object. There is NO RECOVERY after it dies.

You will receive a Instant Object Message 120 Seconds before the Item is to be deleted. If something is wrong TP there its supplied in the message and delete the script. If all is what you want just let it finish, it will also IM you again just before being deleted. These Objects IM appear in local chat.

I wrote this mainly so I can place this in holiday items and have them all removed when the time needed passes.
Script only checks once a hour for the date so if you drop this 45mins after the hour it will delete midnight UTC time + 45mins.

*TIP: Once you setup your display of items you wish removed on a date, select them all and EDIT the DESCRIPTION field while they are all highlighted to the Date you want them removed. This will change the description field on them all at the same time.
Then Pick up as a Coalesced object [ http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Object#Coalesced_object ] and save in your inventory in a folder that explains to you what this is. i.e.. Holidays\Christmas\2015 This way you have a copy of the event/holiday objects you can set out again and tweak for next years event from. Make sure you are in EDIT mode when you place it so you can move it as you like.

Another good use is if you would like to rez a object for a friend and have it die after a week or so - good way for them to test drive something you have in Mod/Copy. NEVER Use this is No Copy Items as when it Dies - it is gone. No Folder to recover from! If its in a No Copy Item it is gone until you get another one.

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is used - See http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx to check how this is based on your local time.

Enjoy!
