2020 Update:
Since this is a 10-year-old item, it has a lot of prims but do keep in mind it has a working clock and lamp with motion switch. I've updated it (slightly) down to 29 prims from 50!
Also, it is mod but it cannot be shrunken as a linked object because it has tiny parts, however, feel free to unlink and do whatever you like to it, built a robot, I don't care, it is MOD despite what some reviews say. It's a freebie also, so try not to be too harsh with the reviews.

Lots of detail but...
There's a huge amount of detail and work gone into this and it looks great, but unfortunately few are going to have the prim allowance on their land to afford this piece of furniture. If prim allowance is not an issue then it's a great piece to have in your modern home. Also, it's modifiable so you can reduce the prim count by unlinking and removing a few things like the light, clock, detail objects, etc.
Waste Of Prims
I don't write bad reviews, but this one has me baffled. Why offer something for free when it's practically useless. First, neither the table or chair can be resized, so it's NOT mod! If you like your furniture 1.5 - 2X your normal SL avi size, then this is your set. Secondly, as others have critiqued, the prim count is obnoxious. All that said, if you just want something modern looking for display purposes, the price is hard to beat.
Good, buy the prims...
I like it and it's a good decoration, but I don't understand why there has to be so many prims to it.
