Very Nice Artwork. Shines all nicely. reminds me of...
A few years ago, back when I was much younger, my dad and I were out fishing. That same day, my classmate Charlie—an annoying dweeb at the time—passed by with his dad on their swamp boat. Our dads exchanged greetings like gentlemen, but Charlie? He stuck his tongue out at me!
His dad saw it and immediately smacked him upside the head. Meanwhile, my dad just chuckled and ruffled my hair in approval.
A few minutes passed before my dad casually said, “You know, Daughter? That boy’s just teasing you because he’s got a crush on you.”
No! I thought to myself. No way this dweeb likes me!
Years went by, and by the time I hit my teen years, Charlie and I had more or less been going out. It wasn’t exactly a grand romance—just a mix of familiar company, playful banter, and the slow realization that maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t as insufferable as I once thought.
Then came senior prom. Now, had I been the main belle of the event, this story would have been different. Maybe I would have had a picture-perfect moment, walking in with all eyes on me, a stunning dress, and Charlie looking like a prince straight out of some coming-of-age fantasy.
But reality had other plans.
That evening was all dancing and flirting, the kind of night that made the air hum with teenage recklessness. Charlie, ever the optimist, was convinced it was going to be our first kiss—maybe even a little more.
So there we were, parked in his old Edsel, caught up in the moment, going wild like foxes in a chicken coop. Then, out of nowhere, something in me snapped.
“Wait.”
Charlie froze, looking at me like I’d just said something completely unexpected. He watched, dumbfounded, as I opened the door, stepped out, and simply walked home. Why I did that, I’ll never know.
The next day, he accused me of giving him blue balls. Lol. thats what this piece reminds me of; That story! It now sits in the middle of my monochromatic room. its a conversation piece.
Refined art piece
Awesome egg for more than just Easter :)
