17th – 18th Century German Bayern Executioners Sword
This interesting German executioner is quite unusual not having the traditional gallows and wheel of justice engraved in the blade.
The hilt is comprised of a oval pommel with a studded grip, the studs shaped in cross and numbering three, representing the “Holy Trinity”.
The double edge spatula blade is marked with the Bayern stamp and three crosses.
