Fin's - TrueBook C is ...
* smart,
* fast,
* reliable and
* the means absolute lowest delay.
Do not believe me?
See for yourself:
'Fin's - TrueBook C v.1.5 (Publishing Version)': [7/7] running scripts, 448 KB allowed memory size limit,
0.008728 ms of CPU time consumed.
You see, I have not exaggerated, a typical Fin's Corp. product indeed.
But, this book can do even more for you.
You want to give your friends an album with your favorite pictures or a catalog with all your beautiful new products?
But you do not want to give them your precious textures. Or you want to create a facsimile of a valuable original book,
as a model for Second Life and must not give away the textures from copy protection reasons?
In this case, Fin's - TrueBook C is your solution, I hope.
Fin's - TrueBook C can provide you a full perm, or copy-trans, or copy, or trans version of your book project
without textures in content. Just as you need it.
and it can be even more ...
It's completely changeable; cover, dimensions and page layout are freely definable.
You can build it in the size of 1 cm, or in 25 meters.
You can add a front paper and/or an end paper. And of course it is a page turn book.
and it can do even more for you ...
What do you say when I tell you, it is possible with Fin's - TrueBook to build a book
that contains no textures but still can store as many pages as you like?
Do not believe me? I tell you, it's so.
Fin's - TrueBook C allows you to create books with thousands of pages, if you want.
And it is just as fast as with only 50 pages, we promise!
and it can do even more for your customers ...
Fin's - TrueBook C can give URL's and all kind of items to everyone with using permission of the book!
Each page can give as many different items as you want (such as landmarks, objects, NC's ... ).
The customer receives these objects clearly sorted in a folder named by the title of the book and
the corresponding page number. URL's are given as go-to-page-box, so no user will forget to visit the
secondary pages, or your sale shop.
and of curse ...
You will always get the latest version automatically as an owner of a 'regular version' (master book).
But the best of the best for last ...
If you wish, Fin's - TrueBook C has only a land impakt of 4 - max. 6 prims (in delivery size)!
You think that's impossible for a page turn book build by normal prims in SL?
No, it's not ... *smile*
Fin's - TrueBook ... simply the best for each of us bookworms.
Sincerely
Findbhair McConaught
(Owner of Fin's Corp.)

Book product nice but very difficult to set up
The product itself is produces a very nice book, but it is unduely difficult for the book creator to use. The scripting is excellent but the physical build could stand some improvement and the documentation is unclear and important information is not provided.
My biggest two issues of the physical build are 1) there is no seam/page divider built in between side by side pages unless you draw it on each page yourself in photoshop or gimp, and 2) there is no blank texture for the book spine (which has another book’s name on it).
Also my biggest issue with the directions is that they are incomplete and confusing, and omit important details like this: when you are trying to give objects or urls it wont work until you publish the book. So you can fuss and fret and try and retry to get the giver to work in the version you are creating… and it wont. But when you publish it (which requires some actions and rezzing a separate object to set up) then suddenly it works. It would have been nice to know that it is NOT supposed to give things until you publish it. That should be clearly in the section on “spread objects” in the user guide.
I am giving this 3 stars because of the many extra frustrating hours it took to set up my book. If they made the instructions clearer and if they provided a few necessary textures such as a blank cover spine (that you could edit to have your books title) and a blank left and blank right page with the page separator drawn into them, I would raise my rating. In fact, they really ought to provide all of the cover textures as well.
A nice upgrade, but...
I love the TrueBook. I use it for my gurl scout troop's handbook and it's easy to update and republish as many time as needed. Even adding a notecard for the page for them to fill out...it's just super handy! I have the regular version as well as the catalog version and can attest heavily to the fact that it is WAY better than the HippoBook! It's really fast loading the pages and very user friendly from the publisher and user side. It's my go to for any kind of publishing!
My only complaint with the Catalog version is that it still says "thank you for using Fin's TrueBook" in local every time it's rezzed. I bought the upgrade to the catalog version in hopes that I'd be able to customize that bit to say something like our troop slogan....alas no. If there's any way to get this option available or even have you do that custom for me, I'd really appreciate it. Just seems a little proprietary considering this isn't the "economy" version of the publishing system.
Don't get me wrong, I love this and will continue to happily use it, but it needed to be mentioned that you can't change that text. If it had been said somewhere that this wasn't customizable I may have refrained from splurging on the catalog version.
