The trails use the new particle options to actually appear as a 3D ribbon, so a new viewer is required to fully appreciate the effect.
!! PLEASE NOTE: the newest versions of certain viewers have issues with displaying particle effects. If you experience randomly disappearing trails, your only options are to use fewer trails at once, switch to another viewer, downgrade to an older version or wait for a fix. !!

How to use:
1) Just add them to your avatar
2) You can make additional copies of the objects and attach them to any point you wish, just remember to move and turn them to the right angle using the edit tool afterwards
3) Attach the HUD to configure the effect

The top left button on the HUD minimizes and restores it, and the top right one restores default settings. Rest of the controls are labeled, slide and poke them around and see what happens!
