WHAT IT IS:
●A prim that emits snowflake particles underneath it which gently fall for about 32 meters.
●Also comes in half height, quarter height, and eighth height versions so that you can put emitters over houses and other buildings without getting snow inside your house.
SEE YOUTUBE LINK BELOW!
HOW TO USE:
●Rez an emitter.
●Right-click on it and select "Edit".
●The white side should be facing the ground.
●If it's not, make sure the numbers under "Rotation (Degrees)" in the Object tab say X:180, Y:0, Z:0.
●Drag the coloured arrows to move the emitter
●Raise it high up off the ground. It should be emitting snowflakes beneath it.
●If you want more snow, rez more emitters
●Spread emitters apart to cover more area, or put them in the same spot to double the snow output.
●Each emitter occupies 1Li.
●As long as they're less than 64 meters apart, you can link them to reduce their collective Li by half.
●You can cover a 64x64 meter area with about 9 to 12 emitters.
●When you are satisfied with the position of your emitters, you can make them invisible via the "Edit" menu.
●To do this, right-click on the emitter and select "Edit".
●Go to the "Texture" tab in the window that appears.
●Set the "Transparency" number you find there to 100.
●This will render the prims invisible, but it will not affect the particles, which will stay visible.
●To make it visible again, set this number to 0.
●To find your emitter prim(s) while they're invisible, press ctrl+alt+T to make hidden objects turn red.
●Press ctrl+alt+T again when you're done to re-hide hidden objects.
v1.2 — Dec 11, 2023:
●Turn snow particles on or off by clicking on the emitter.
●Turn snow particles on or off with chat command. See readme.
●Make emitters visible or invisible with chat command. See readme. While rendered invisible with this command, emitters will show an asterisk in black floating text above to help you find them again later.
●Emitters now allow modify as they were always intended to.
●Regular height emitter should no longer rez upside down.
v1.1 — Dec 11, 2021
●The prims now show a white face on the side that should be pointing towards the ground.
●The ½ height, ¼ height, and ⅛ height emitters were rezzing upside down. This has been corrected.
