A carved and gilded wood George II-style over-mantel trumeau, with three small mirrors at the bottom and a panel painted by Antonio Modena depicting the French ambassador approaching the palace of the King of Siam.
The piece is a replica of a model designed by Thomas Chippendale, made in 1759, and exhibited in Dumfries House. England.
