An elegant George III style bookcase, made in various contrasts of mahogany, grey harewood, pink and yellow tulipwood, box and ebony, originally stained in bright colours.
The decoration corresponds to the second half of the 18th century, when neoclassicism gradually replaced rococo. The motifs used are particularly rich, especially on the pediment, with garlands, rams' heads, urns and flowers, corresponding to the Etruscan style of the period.
