Gilt frame "Buteaux" -C&G-

A frame from the late Louis XV period, (c1770) in carved and gilded wood by François Charles Buteaux (Sculptor for the conte d'Artrois).

The frame, with serrations in different bands, is decorated with a cartouche at the top, under a ribbon tying a wreath of laurel leaves, which falls down both sides of the frame, and at the bottom an apron with roses and lilies.
