The flight boost attaches to the bottom left by default, if you attach to another point, it may be off screen. An easy way to fix this it to attach to the bottom left, and edit to move it off screen, then attach to the spot you want.
Touch the throttle slider to set the speed and activate the boost. Touch the 'Boost On'/'Boost Off' to toggle the flight boost, and the 'Hover On'/'Hover Off' button to toggle the hoverboost.
