Why you need this script? Have you tried changing the color of a tintable hairpiece and fail to get all strands of hair to stick to the state you want it to be? Yes, using the color picker in the texture menu is not the right way to change this parameter for every piece of a linkset that has many many parts, as a hair usually has. Using a script like this one, the change is instantaneous and effective on every prim. You just need to have modify permissions for the hair you want to change color so you can paste a copy of this script and its configuration notecard into its content tab and then just touch the hair to for the color to change to your liking. When you are done, you can delete the script and notecard from the hair if you think you won't need them later.
