Alien Spawn - an Exosphere HolodeckScene
This is an Exosphere Holodeck Scene and requires it to be installed in the Exosphere Holodeck.
The deep space outpost "Omega Zeta" has gone dark. The last message from them said that some "strange alien creature" had got on board and the crew were attempting to locate it. Since then, there's been no further contact, only silence. Your task is to enter the outpost, check the place for lifeforms, figure out what's happened to the crew, look for the clues, find the alien, locate the nest... and then destroy it. Then retrace your steps & get out alive. Takes a friend with you, you may need help.
Features include:
- An immersive futuristic base, with multiple deck levels
- Hi-tech rooms, corridors & sliding doors
- Working teleports between levels
- Animated computer screens and custom graphics
- Be careful - the Alien Queen stalks the corridors!
- Special effects - smoke, flames, sparks, lights, steam, sounds
- Superb role play capability
Set your viewer to midnight for the best experience. Be advised, the crew are not in any state to help you. And when you find what the alien and her brood have done to them... yuk!
We won't tell you too much about this one as we don't want to spoil the surprises in store for you. But take a look at these pictures as Ripley's cousin takes you on a hunt for the eggs... The pictures have all been taken from inside this Holo-deck scene and have NOT been retouched in any way, other than to crop them. What you see is what you'll get.
Here's some hints for survival:
The Alien Queen:
She's big, she's mean and she's on the move. She can be found prowling around on the upper levels but may sometimes be spotted on the lower decks. Don't get too near her tail or her claws as she can pin you against the walls. Best to avoid her and wait until she moves away before you make your move to get past her.
The Teleports:
Use the Quantum Beam teleports to move between the deck levels. To operate, touch the teleport pad, then sit on the beam that appears. You'll be vaporised and reassembled at the destination pad. The beam remains operational for a short time once it's activated, so your friends can follow you through.
Smoke and Fires:
Seems like the crew have had several skirmishes with the creature. The walls are marked with phaser blasts, fires have broken out around the base and they're burning out of control. Expect to encounter smoke, sparks & crackles, as well as some of the most realistic flames in SL.
Special Effects:
Somewhere at the top level, you will find an Environment Control terminal. You'll find that special effects such as sparks, steam and smoke can be controlled by touching various small screens and panels near the corner. Hint: The thick vertical smoke wall can be used to hide from the alien as you try and make your escape...
The Doors:
You can simply walk up to them (or just touch them) and they'll slide open and then close again once you have passed through. You can also lock/unlock them with a "long press". The doors will always open for the owner, though.
The Nest:
Once you've discovered the nest of alien eggs and her brood, you can work out how to destroy it. You won't be able to reach the nest unless you get past the Alien Queen. You'll need to work out how to destroy the eggs, including the Aliens that have already hatched. It's pretty spectacular - you'll love it! When you've taken care of business, you'll have to get back past the angry alien queen and retrace your steps down and out to the entrance again, before you can claim bragging rights.
More info:
You can turn some of the heavier particle effects on and off at a touch. And everything gets cleared away when you select "clear" from the Holo-deck menu.
There's plenty of custom textures and graphics just waiting for your Role Play. You can also easily remove all the bodies at a touch, should you wish to RP without them.
Installing your Holo-Deck Scene
To install your new scene, rezz the Scene Install box next to your Holo-Deck controls. Then touch the Scene Installer panel on the Holo-deck. The scene will be installed automatically.

Heckin' Scary!!!
If you like that Alien movie, you're gonna love this scene!! This thing came up behind me, legit scared the heck outta me. Too much fun!!!
I loved it to discover the Holo Deck functionalities ... would be great to provide ...
provide furniture apart for our own creations so that we can easily build into the holo-deck with a thematic library at disposal in spite of picking it outside of the scenes. Free time is always too short and the more free time we can save, the best we will enjoy playing with the Holo-deck.
Cause Aliens!
This is pretty cool.. I have gone through the holodeck scene alone, though I can certainly see having someone to come with me as the investigation moves along inside this scene. There is no time limit, its not like your going to actually, well.. die in there? Are you? *laughs*
This was made for roleplayers in mind! I love it.
