-Jane&Finch- Dynasty Minimal Coffee Table
Dynasty Minimal was a combination of our modern aesthetic and our deep appreciation for Ming style furniture. After having admired the distinct wood carving style and traditional motifs for so long, we wanted to see if we could capture the feeling without losing what makes the style unique to itself.
This set was meant to fill out a good portion of a living room, but each piece could very easily be adapted to use in any room in a home that one wishes to have that distinct flair. We went with a deep matte black to create a modern feel, powdercoated over aluminum for lightweight lifting and moving; especially useful when the screens come into play, creating divided spaces that allow air and light through. Even the coffee table takes the style of angular wooden joists, capturing it with the same lightweight aluminum. Of course, we also never want to hide such a unique defining feature, and topped it with glass so you and your guests can appreciate it all day long. The floor lamps were a finishing touch, utilizing old techniques to create hand pressed rice paper that diffuses the glow of light until it's nice and warm.
We'd like to extend our deepest appreciation to the uniqueness of Ming furniture.

See item in Second LifeGreat quality table, and it's MOD!
Despite the rating, I decided to give the table a try after spotting it in a sim. It's pretty top quality.
The textures are great and realistically baked and it's MODIFY, so if you don't want the baked in reflections, you can just blank out the textures set it to a low opacity, and hit it with a blank specular.
It's only 150L, which is dirt cheap for original mesh with a lot of attention to technical detail. You don't see many furniture designers making their stuff perform out in the wild with custom Level of Detail, so it's not going to crumple into doritos when you walk away like most stuff out there.
Baked in reflections...
The basic design of this table is nice, but the glass topper is strange. There are large specular reflections baked into the texture and unless you have windows placed exactly right, this is going to be odd. I replaced the texture with my own in order to make it work.
Given that, a tad expensive for something with no extra features.
