The jedi katana was a weapon used by the je'daii before the invention of the lightsaber. The jedi katana did not need to be made of any specific material, but was instead imbued with the force using focusing crystals (precursors to lightsaber crystals). When imbued, the katana was much more powerful, and could stand up to a modern lightsaber no matter what it was made from in the same way a force imbued staff made of wood could manage it.

Jedi katanas could be made from any sort of material however, and could be customized as extensively as any lightsaber hilt. Each one glowed a unique color as well, depending on the jedi who held it. Though their practice died off after the invention of the lightsaber, some jedi still preferred the feel of the blade, and with enemies who use lightsaber resistant material, or curtosis, the jedi katana is no more hampered by that armor than armor made of durasteel.

Commands:
/667 jedi draw (Y) - Draws the katana
/667 jedi sheath (Shift-Y) - Sheaths the katana
/667 jedi hold - Draws the katana, but leaves the scripts inactive
/667 empower (Ctrl-Y) - Empowers the katana with the force, turning on the glow, setting the katana to lightsaber mode (to deflect blasters), and able to block force lightning
/667 load - brings up a menu to load combat AO notecards from

Coloring the glow of your katana:
To color the glow of the katana, simply empower the weapon, and edit it, changing the glow color through the normal edit menu. This will change the color, which is then stored in the crystal in the pommel of the katana. When you sheath the katana, it will also send a message to the sheathed version to have it match the color. It's as simple as that, and persistent, even through script resets.
