K9 Version 1.02

Thank-you for your interest in K9, by Vortex Systems.

K9 has been modeled most closely to K9 Mark II, which was the second K9 we have seen in-series. However, K9 includes a texture-changer function that will apply textures to him that make him look like K9 Mark I (dirty, and not as new), before he was retired in The Invasion of Time, 1977.

K9's functions are spread across numerous dialogs (menus) and chat commands. The main dialog can be accessed by touching any button on K9's control panel (on his back). You can't miss them, as they will continuously flash when K9 is powered up! K9 also listens on channel 0 and channel 1 for commands from his owner. Anything said on channel 1 is repeated by K9, so it looks like he said it himself. Chat that begins with "k9, " on channel 0 will be processed, if it's a valid command then it will do what it should do. Examples include "k9, shoot", "k9, follow", and "k9, track Jimbo Bridger".
In addition to listening for chat commands, K9 will also listen for any incoming TARDISes. K9 is able to detect a Vortex Systems (Vortex), Hands Of Omega (HoO) or Who Island Timeline Systems (WITS) TARDIS if it lands nearby.

In The Invasion Of Time, after the Doctor left K9 Mark I with Leela, he entered the TARDIS and brought a box into the control room. That box says "K9 MII" on it. MII meaning Mark 2. Our K9 also comes in a box exactly like that one, along with K9 himself, a manual, hud and various other items.
