Heyla and well met!

Thank you for purchasing the Beginner's Longsword by Keeper's Krew Productions! I truly hope you find this sword to your liking, allowing you to get used to melee combat in SL.

=====
Permissions and Customization:
=====

While the scripts in the actual sword are copy-only to prevent certain data from being seen, there are copies of the swordfighting and draw /sheathe scripts independent of the sword that are full permissions to allow the customer to play around with it. The sword, itself, is copy-only, with all of its contents being copy-only as well. I plan to make a copy/mod version of this sword available, complete with Texture and UV Maps that the customer may use to make their own textures and colors for the sword. Keep an eye out for a version of this sword that comes in multiple colors!

=====
Textures
=====

The Beginner’s Longsword makes use of both legacy/traditional textures and PBR materials. If your viewer has PBR capability, you will see the sword with PBR materials. If your viewer does not have PBR capability, you will see only the legacy/traditional textures.

The Control Scheme
-----

KKP’s Beginner’s Longsword comes with two control schemes:

1. The Traditional Mouselook Mode Control Scheme
a. When in Mouselook, you hold down the left mouse button while pressing on the movement keys to activate the sword strikes.
b. This is a classic melee weapon setup that is still used in many combat systems.
2. The Third Person Mode Control Scheme
a. In order to keep the left mouse button open and available for mouse steering, instead of holding down the left mouse button, the player holds down the forward movement key in conjunction with the other movement keys to activate the sword strikes.
b. I came up with this control scheme on my own in order to make Third Person Mode Melee Combat a viable feature, as I can not abide Mouselook Mode, so finding combat systems that make use of this control scheme will be difficult, to say the least.
c. If you like this control scheme and/or have ideas on how to improve upon it, please feel free to leave a comment in the reviews. I’m fully open to suggestions that can help me make this system better and more fun for others to use.

Dealing Damage
-----

There's a version of this Longsword that's labeled "MyStory." *****While in Mouselook Mode*****, this sword is compatible with the MyStory RP system. In order for this weapon to work correctly, you ***and*** your opponent must have the MyStory RP System equipped and active and have, equipped, a MyStory-Compatible Weapon. If both you and your opponent have these things *****and you are in Mouselook Mode while making the strikes****, your weapon should deal health damage to your opponent. If you want to mitigate some of the damage dealt to you by your opponent, take a look at the combat supplies I have available in my in-world shop!

The other version of the Beginner’s Longsword will deal damage under the following conditions: You’re on land that has Linden Damage enabled.

Sometimes, you’ll discover that a combat meter/HUD operates solely by detecting a particular series of key presses. If those key presses match either of the control schemes used for the Beginner’s Longsword, you’ll be able to use this weapon with that system. But I’m not certain how many of these systems still exist in SL, anymore, so I couldn’t say which ones to seek out. You’ll have to experiment on your own to see which systems this product will work with.

Once again, thanks for buying! I hope you truly enjoy your purchase!
