Whats this thing do!?
This little device is made to help you track who goes where, who took what, who joined what and so forth.
Simply put.. someone clicks something with this script inside of it, and you get an instant message saying they did it. Now that sounds pretty basic right? and without a doubt if that's all it did.. that's incredibly basic.. However! here's the best part..
The Best Part
If you're offline while someone clicks said prim, it will record the messages until you log back into second life! at which point it will deliver all of your messages, saving your IMs from a certain cap!
The Message
The message it sends you is also completely configurable, everything from first names to profile links. Here's the list of 'message variables':
$name - First and Last name of the user that clicked the object. ex: Kindred Skytower
$fname - First name of the user that clicked the object. ex: Kindred
$lname - Last name of the user that clicked the object. ex: Skytower
$region = Current Region name the prims in. ex: Kinetix
$parcel = Current Parcel Name the prims in. ex: KinEx - Main Store
$pos = The vector position of the object. ex: <32.00412,47.41755,20.00000>
$time = Current SecondLife time. ex: 8:30:10
$date = Current SecondLife Date. ex: 05-29-2009
$link = Hotlink to the users profile. ex: secondlife:///app/agent/0b4ce6e7-9222-4928-93a8-4b88d8ec7767/about
So lets say you wanted a message that gave the username, parcel, date, time and a profile hotlink.
You would type /1 message, then once it prompts you for the new message, type:
$name Clicked me in $parcel, on $date at $time. $link
Then touch the object to see your message at work!
In case you're wondering what a profile hotlink is.. copy and paste "secondlife:///app/agent/0b4ce6e7-9222-4928-93a8-4b88d8ec7767/about" into second life, and you'll see exactly what i'm talking about!
Some usage ideas! (i'm sure you'll come up with more)
This sort of thing is fantastic for group invite prims, map teleport prims, notecard prims, really anything that's touched. Gives you a good idea who's coming from where and how people are joining your groups.
