The Ktaba Sonar HUD was developed as part of my J-Class project, but it works perfectly for any boat. It's very easy to use.
1) Drop the script into your boat
2) Attach the HUD
3) Raise the sails.
The hud allows you to adjust the following settings for your boat with simple chat commands:
"range xx" - sets the range for the sonar scan
"scan xx" - set the scan resolution. since there are five scans per sweep, at concentric radii, "scan 20" is the same as "range 100", since it will perform 5 scans at 20m radii, or a 100m range.
"draft x.x" - sets the depth of the keel.
The hud tells you where the shallow water is. You will run aground on "red" squares, you have 0.5m clearance on "orange", 1m on "yellow", 2m on "green", and >3 for "blue".
