Builder's Greeting.
First of all, thank you for considering the Ktaba J-Class "Vanya". As a sailor in rl myself, I know how important it is that a yacht not only perform well all the things that yachts are supposed to do, but also, and perhaps even more importantly, sailors want to feel good, and look good when they're sailing. I believe sailing is good for the soul - if there's anything better in this life, I haven't found it. I designed Vanya with this in mind - I chose the J-Class because I believe that perhaps no boat inspires the soul of a sailor more than the J-Class, and when sailors think "classic racing yacht", usually the image they have in their mind is that of the J-Class. Vanya was built to be sailed, so... SAIL! Enjoy life! Have fun! And be happy!
Vanya sulie,
Craig

A Little Background on the J-Class Yachts.
The Vanya is a reproduction of the most renowned of all America's Cup racing yachts, and many sailors believe the J-Class represents the height of the "Golden Age" of America's Cup yacht racing, since their sleek, graceful lines are not just for good looks, but are the evidence and credentials of their racing design. She carries a skipper and five crew members, and features a low-lag, low-prim design that includes:
* high-detail, low-LI mesh construction
* high-performance, low-lag sailing engine (< 400K memory!)
* easy-to-customize mesh design
* WWC or Bwind
* crew controls
* luffing sails
* lavishly-fitted with authentic hardware
* windvane
* custom textures
* custom animations
* various innovations and desirables (sonar/ compass hud, bow wave, realistic spinnaker controls, new algorithms "under the hood")
Feature-for-feature, the Ktaba Vanya distinguishes herself among finest racing yachts in SL.
- mesh construction
- low script load
- custom animations
Terrific sailboat
I have practically all types of sailboats from all main vendors. But only this boat gives me real feeling of skipper fighting the wheel and sails, especially when WWC is set to bit rougher conditions.
GLW might be handy, though.
The finest sailboat in sl
I am a huge fan of j-class boats- this is huge and sails smoothly.
Just love it
Challenging boat, hence 5 stars.
Sailing this boat made me realize that sailing is a craft that needs to be learned. It is a bit difficult to sail and it needs some space. You really need to get a feeling of how this boat turns and need to plan how to round a mark. In the beginning you sail all over the place like a drunken sailor but after some trial and error you get it. Steeper learning curve than any other boat I know. More of a project than an instant weekend tripper. Be prepared to need all the available space of Blake sea to practice. The boat has a lot of inertia that results in slow reaction to about any change you make.
Craig is very helpful in case you have questions. Maybe the LOD is not as advanced as more modern boats. Sim crossings are better as compared to some more modern boats.
Never a dull moment!
HAWT: must have object!
I personally love it!
Vanya is just an awesome experience any time: I didn't navigate any Jclasses, yet, reminds me of the H. Rassy's 38, specially when there is no thruster installed , :P very realistic in that way--- got to plan, and be one step ahead of her .
Visually Vanya its an Art work.
Epically done mr. Craig.
TNX.
Mmmmmmmm ....
This J-Class Yacht is a piece of love and done with so much passion and craftsman-sailing-ship.
Like 20 years ago i saw the legendary "Endeavour" parked next to her sister ship in a Harbour in St. John in Antigua Island. And now i saw Ktabas dark blue answer to this fairies in SL. Awesome!
Thank you for this beauty treasure and "Go Team!"
