(The scripts in this system are not modifiable)

This is The LandMaster Landing Score System and includes the scoring /runway component only, NOT the optional scoreboard which can be found at: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LandMaster-Scoreboard-Add-On-V10/7962894

This system uses 2 prims to measure and score airplane landings on your airport's runway(s). It sends the pilot a private IM a few seconds after landing with their last landing rating on a 0-100 scale. The pilot can then touch the runway for more detailed scoring data to see what deductions were made from their score and how to improve your landings.

This system can and does accurately score the landings of almost every plane in Second Life. If the plane points East and is level by default then this system can score the plane's landing accurately, no matter the model of manufacturer. I've not yet seen or been presented with a plane that this system cannot score accurately.

Installing Your LandMaster Landing Analyzer
-------------------------------------------------------
Since every runway is different, the LandMaster is installed using a HUD that determines what prims/components you need to install the system that best match your runway dimensions. Please follow the 3 steps below to obtain a folder with the items you need to install this system.

1. Wear (add to your avatar) the "LandMaster Installation HUD Wizard V1.3b". Do not place the Installation Wizard on the ground or it will delete itself.
2. Follow the Instructions given to you by the HUD. It will first explain to you how the system works, then it will ask you for your runway dimensions in meters. (length and width only).
3. At the end of the installation process you will be given a folder with your region name that contains the installation components needed for your runway. Place them where the HUD instructs you to do so.

If you need any assistance please contact Christi Charron inworld via IM and I will be happy to help you.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Information the LandMaster Landing Analyzer is using to grade landings:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Runway Impact Speed:
If the plane touchdown occurs at over 2m/s drop rate it will count against the pilot's score, More for higher vertical drop rate). A descent rate of 2 m/s or higher is classified as a hard landing in any aircraft.

2. Airplane Pitch:
If at the time of touchdown, the airplane lands nose-first or pitched-down (below -2 degrees to add a little leeway), it will count against the pilot's score significantly. Otherwise pitch is not a factor in the score calculation.

3. Airplane Roll:
I the plane is tilted to the left or right at the time of touchdown it will count against the pilot's score.

4. Plane Velocity to Runway Alignment:
If the plane's velocity is not in-line and congruent/perpendicular to the alignment of the runway when it touches down, it will count against the pilot's score. This has nothing to do with which way the plane is facing but rather the direction the plane is traveling. If the plane has a wind-system and is "crabbing" it will not count against the pilot's score as long as the plane is moving straight down the runway when it touches down. Yaw is not measured by the Landing score system.

5. Plane Centering with the Runway:
The closer to the center of the runway a plane is when it touches down, the higher the pilot's score will be.

6. Plane Speed:
If at touchdown, the plane is moving too slowly for any full-scaled plane to maintain lift (below 4m/s), it will count against the pilot's score significantly. Otherwise speed is not a factor in the score calculation.

Landing Score Ranges Defined:
0.0 - 20.0s: Crash-landing likely resulting in catastrophic damage to the plane resulting in passenger casualties
30.0s: Crash-landing likely resulting in critical damage to the plane resulting in passenger injury and possible casualties
40.0's: Hard-landing resulting in structural damage to the plane and possible passenger injury
50.0's: Scary landing
60.0's: Fair Landing
70.0's: Good Landing
80.0's: Great Landing
90.0's: Perfect Landing

Additionally, The Shortcomings of the Landing Score System:
* It cannot determine if a pilot or copilot is flying the plane it's attempting to grade. If the owner of the plane is aboard it assumes they're the pilot.

* If your version of the LandMaster does not include the optional Scoreboard, one is available on the MP at :
https://marketplace.secondlife.com/merchants/818080/store/products/7962894

(The Scoreboard owner does NOT have to own the rest of the LandMaster Landing Analyzer System for it to work in this region)

Great overall but one suggested improvement

Some say this is not a "realistic" enough measure of landing quality. And yeah, it's not perfect (got a 97 with the gear up yesterday lol). But overall if you're close to the center of the runway, pointed in the right direction, at a reasonable speed, that's a pretty good landing in SL, and the more you deviate from it....well.....

The one criteria I wish they would measure is how far down the runway you are when you finally touch down. SL pilots, myself included, absolutely *love* to overshoot the ideal touchdown zone and land 2/3 of the way down the runway. And most SL airplanes, even the ones regarded as the most "realistic," stop on a dime compared to the real things, leaving basically no consequences for overshooting. Factoring that into a landing score would teach pilots--at least the ones who care about such things--to aim for the first 1/3 of the runway.

Also, what the other reviewers said about setup. Super easy and has never malfunctioned.

Just what we need in SL

I used this a while ago but wanted to come back to write a review for this amazing product. It's pretty useful and EASY to set up. Uses advanced scripting that prepares a customised land master for the size of your runway which makes sure that it can fit in any airport. Almost all airports use this land master system and I can see why. Christi is definitely a brilliant creator :)

A must for any airport owner.
