The Landformer is a tool to form / edit the land. It works on your own land as well as on group owned land; basically where ever you have the right to edit the land (right click on land, then click on “about land”). The landformer can be used exclusively by its owner.

Use:
===

The landformer can be used in 2 basically different ways:

1) forming land using the vehicle (vehicle mode)
2) forming land using the object-edit-mode (object-edit-mode)

You have the same menu buttons available in both modes (you can see the last ones on the list when you click on options in the main menu):

- If slow: forms the land slowly (recommended when raising and lowering the land)
- If medium: forms the land with medium speed
- If fast: forms the land fast (very suitable for flats and for smoothing)

- small: puts the landformer on a small (2x2m) land editing area
- medium: puts the landformer on a medium sized (4x4m) land editing area
- large: puts the landformer on a large sized (8x8m) land editing area

As a standard, the landformer operates on an area of 2x2m (as long as you don’t change the size). SecondLife does not allow here any finer/more accurate adjustments.

- Stop: stops editing the land, i.e. you can move the landformer in all directions, including up/down without forming the land.
- Level: levels the land on the same elevation as the landformer
- Smooth: adapts the land gently to the environment. Here you can create slants and rolling hills
- Raise: raises the land to the maximum allowed limit or until you click stop. A slow raising is therefore recommended
- Lower: lowers the land to the lowest bottom level or until you click stop. A slow lowering is therefore recommended.

In options:
- <<<: back to main menu
- Help: produces this notecard
- Lower aG / Stop aG: Sets the kind of acting of the landformer when the landformer touches the ground using the 'Page down' key. 'Lower aG' (lower at ground) lowers the land. 'Stop aG' (Stop at ground) stops the landformer at ground level.

- slow: sets the vehicle speed to slow
- normal: sets the vehicle speed to normal
- fast: sets the vehicle speed to fast
These 3 parameters make only sense for the vehicle mode. The slower the vehicle is being moved, the more accurate the land forming will be

- Noise: roughens up smooth and/or flat land
- Revert: resets the land to the original state defined by the sim owner.

The different ways of use will be described below:

1) Forming land using the vehicle

Put the landformer on the land you want to edit and sit on it if you want to use it as a vehicle. A menu will appear where you can adjust the above mentioned land editing parameters. You can steer the vehicle itself with the cursor keys (forward, back, left, right). You can move the vehicle vertically by using the keys pageup and pagedown. (Hint: If the vehicle has reached the bottom and you want the level to be lower, you first have to lower the level and then position the vehicle lower with the pagedown key.)

2) Forming land in object editing mode

Put the landformer on the land you want to edit, if you want to use it in object editing mode. If you click on the vehicle, a menu will appear where you can adjust the above mentioned land editing parameters. If you have adjusted the parameters for editing land as desired, change the landformer to edit mode (right click on the landformer and then choose edit) and move it around on the land you want to edit.

If you want to change the landformer parameters during editing land, then simply click in the menu on the according parameters. They will be activated immediately.
