The MCS is a different combat meter, which shall be a better simulation of medieval warfare. Combat in MCS means not to swing wrecklessly and attack only, but to place a few well aimed hits, while avoiding being hit. The amount of damage a strike causes depends on how well it was aimed. In combat the parry (block by blade or shield) is also very important.
Falling too deep and staying under water for too long also causes damage. Another important point is to manage one's stamina during combat. Striking like a berserk (which is the normal "tactic" on typical SL combat systems so far) will exhaust you quickly and deplete your stamina.
The MCS offers an alternative, intuitive weapon control by mouse, which makes your weapon strikes and thrusts independend from your movement direction.
It is strongly recommended to do the exercises of the "How do I start"-notecard of your MCS box.

I love the archery, and the melee combat blocking. Superior to Gorean Meter, and several other combat systems out there right now.
Excellent System. It's the most realistic combat system in SL. I loved it - it works on skill instead of just speed. I found it easy to use (and fun). Great for Medieval role-play and lots of other scenarios.
Highly recommended *****
