[MM] MP5

I really like the Mistral Munitions [MM] line of guns, how they are simple and serviceable for just shooting without a lot of feature bloat.

Alas, this otherwise fine line of firearms is marred by a scripting bug, common across several guns, and the creator is no longer in SL (according to her profile) and there is no support for any of her products: "The owner of this account is no longer available. Support for any MM products are no longer available. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause."

The bug is that the last bullet in every clip (of the LLCS version) is a "blank." What do I mean by this? I mean when you fire the last bullet in the clip, the gun will make a firing sound, but it doesn't actually rez a bullet for it--so the last round will always miss.

So if the clip size is 30 and you fire a whole clip on auto, you get only 29 bullets--the gun not actually rezzing a bullet for the last round. If you fire on burst, the final burst will only rez 2 bullets instead of 3. And if you fire on semi, the last shot will make a bang, but the gun doesn't actually rez a bullet. I use the guns for shooting games (shooting at zombies, ghosts, etc.), and didn't realize the defect until I tried shooting them at some static targets.

I bought 22 of this creator's guns (I like them, except for the bug I found), and 19 of them exhibit this defect, including this one. The ones I have with this bug are the ACR, F2000, FAL, FAMAS, G36C, HK53A3, HK416, L85A1, M4A1, M16A4, MP5, MP5K, MP7, P90, SCAR-L, TAR-21, UMP45, Vector, and VSMG45. Three of the MM guns I bought that don't have the bug, and that I can recommend, are the MM4 AXE, MP5SD, and TEC-9.

What an embarrassing note to end this otherwise simple, practical, and affordable line of guns on. Overall I still like the gun and will still use it, but my feeling for it is diminished.
