HOW TO USE:
--------------
Vending with Maccha-Vend is very simple. Please follow these instructions to setup.
1 - Rez your Maccha-Vend. Right click, and chose "Edit" from the pie menu.
2 - When the edit window opens, click the "Contents" tab. You will see the following files:
ItemsList - This is where you will put your item names and prices. (Item for single vendor)
MacchaPoint - An image used for the vend window when no items are present.
MacchaVendor - This is a non mod script that will vend your items.
Object Settings - This is your settings file. Here you can specify your commission details for another person you wish to share in your profits.
zht_OnRezUpdateCheck & zht_TimedUpdateCheck - Both of these files are third party from HippoUpdate. They are important for the free updates of your vending machine.
Maccha-Vend_VendBox - This is a self unpacking box you can put your items in to sell. Scroll to the bottom of this guide for some notes on the vendbox.
3 - Copy your products, and a texture image for each item, into this page. Your texture image should include the price of your item and a description. Simply drag each item from your inventory into the space below the Contents tab.
4 - Open the ItemsList notecard and enter your product details. (See instructions below)
NOTE: For the single vendor, follow the same steps, but use the Item notecard.
5 - Open the ObjectSettings notecard and enter your settings. (See instructions below)
6 - Chose the "Tools" menu from the top of your screen, and select "Reset scripts in selection."
7 - Close the edit window.
Maccha-Vend should now load your notecards and display your first item.
ITEMSLIST
-----------
For each item you wish to vend, you need a line in the items list.
Please use only one line per item. And don't leave any spaces.
Your last item does not need to have a return character at the end.
The format of each line should be:
<Item Name>|<Price>|<Item to vend>|<Item Texture>
Each part should be separated using the Bar ( | ) character. For example:
Free Cub Nose Scripts|0|MacchaScripts_CubNoseScripts|MacchaScripts_CubNoseTexture
OBJECTSETTINGS
------------------
The settings file can be used to allow a second person to receive commission on your items.
The settings you can set are:
COMMISSIONKEY - The Key of the person you want to give part of your profits too. You can get the key by asking that person to click the "GimmeYourKey" object included in this package. Just rez it, and ask them to touch it. It will give them their own key privately, and they can give it to you.
COMMISSION - A percentage of the profits you wish to give.
COMMISSIONABLEMIN - The minimum amount a purchase should be before commission is given.
Hard to set up, not flexible enough for my needs
I found the setup confusing, especially the reference to the "VendBox" that was NOT inside either vendor I rezzed, but apparently isn't necessary. The vendor accepts more of an item description than just the name, but doesn't display it anywhere - the instructions say that the texture should include the item description and price, which would require me to revise and re-upload textures on all my products. It sold and delivered my copyable items (including a notecard) fine, and sold me and delivered a non-copyable item, but then sold it to me again and apparently did not realize it no longer had one in stock to deliver. The 2% commission isn't unreasonable, but this doesn't do as much as the completely free vendor I am currently using (and will stick with).
