Antonio Solario (active perhaps 1502–1518), also known as Lo Zingaro (The Gypsy) was an Italian painter of the Venetian school, who worked in Naples, the Marche and possibly England. His beautiful oil painting Madonna and Child (c. 1520) is now in the Groninger Museum, the Netherlands.
It includes charming small landscapes seen through a window in a wall behind the figures. The painting is framed in a marvellous frame in relief with two richly decorated pillars at the sides.
The SL version is flat but looks very realistic because of its relief and shadow effects.
It has two sides; one is normal and the other bright.
