Mandlebread serves an eatable slice

Mandlebread, or Mandelbrot in Yiddish, is an Eastern European staple cookie. It's formed into loaves, baked, then sliced into oblong cookie shapes (like biscotti) and thinly and baked some more. The texture on this one has chocolate chips, although it could pass for raisins...etc...
