Created for the medieval style sim. This lift uses ropes and pulleys to move a platform and its passengers up and down. Click on the wrench and watch it turn and move the lift in to place. Featuring custom sculpties. Works great for castles, barns, tree houses.
A lot of time was put in to make this Elevator fast and easy to install.
To show just how easy this is to setup and so you can judge if this is the right elevator for you I have posted as much of the manual that can fit below.
Land Impact:
6 prims for the Lift, 3 prims for each floor, 3 prims for cap.
Total prims by number of Floors
2 floors = 15prims
3 floors = 18prims
4 floors = 21prims
5 floors = 24prims
and so on...
Size:
The Base is 5 meters by 5 meters, the height depends on distances of floors. Lift needs a minimum of 3.1 meters by 3.1 meters to operate.
Floor Limit:
The numbers of floors is limited to 12.
Height Limits:
It is suggested that you do not have floors less than 5 meters apart to ensure correct operation. Max Distance between 2 floors can any distance straight up and down. If it is more than 20 meters the lift will move in 20 meter trips until reaching its target. In theory the distance from bottom floor to the Top Floor is only limited by the sim height. This has been tested to 1,000 meters. Travel is broking into 20 meter units to prevent lag causing the avator falling through the floor of the lift.
Floor Naming:
You are able to set your own names for each floor. If you do not want to name all or any of the floors, The elevator will auto generate the floor name/number based off of its position. Floor 1 being at the bottom and counting up with each higher floor. Floor Names are limited to 12 character or less.
Position:
The elevator shaft must be keep in prefect alignment to ensure smooth running of your elevator. Once you have the base set out at the bottom floor it is suggested to not move the elevator or any of its parts. Each floor will be provided with its own menu system to allow you to position the floor with fast and fine alignment.
Rotation:
You may rotate the base before you put out any floors. The floors will be rezzed in alignment with the base. you may have Floors opening to different sides. Use the Floor menu to Rotate which way the floor faces. To ensure your floor aligns with the rest of elevator do not rotate floors using the build tools. The menu system will provide you with the rotates that will work.
Moving or Changing a Built Elevator:
It is not suggested that you change or move any part of the elevator after it has run the build function. This will likely break the elevator. It is recommended that you reset the elevator, move to the new position and go through the setup again.
Build instructions:
- Set the Base -
1. Rez the Elevator Base Section at the bottom floor & position it.
2. Close Build window
3. Click on the bottom prim of the elevator base.
4. Select the Name button if you wish to name the bottom floor
- Setting Floor Heights -

This will Rezz a Floor Marker piece.

B. Select name if you wish to name the floor
3. Move the Floor Marker up to your Floor. This is best done by using the move menu on the Floor Marker menu.
Advanced builders can select move from the Build menu to move the Floor Marker Sections up and down. However, the built-in Move option auto-aligns the prims.
4. Rotate the Floor Section. This is best done by the rotate menu on the Floor Section menu.
Advanced builders can select rotate from the Build menu to move the Floor Marker Section up and down. However, the built-in Rotate option auto-rotates the prims 90 degrees.

I couldn't get it to work correctly
I tried setting up everything twice, each time the elevator would rez crooked. So it does go up and down, it just doesn't reset itself.
I'm not saying to not buy this, just realize you might have to redesign your house just to get this to work.
Nice but with issues
I was hoping to use this as an elevator of sorts for going into an underground cave. However, I have found that after going up and down a few times, especially if more then one person is on it, it tends to go off center. At one point when it landed it was on its side. It is probably great just for making it look like it is used for freight or occasion movement. Looks great. Although customizing textures and size would have been nice, I do realize it said no mod so I am fine with that. It is just the movement that makes it impossible for me to use.
EXCELLENT JOB
This is a wonderful system, it takes time to set it up (which i totally forgive), and responds to the physics on the ground and the top so make sure there's not a cliff or crooked ground under it. Love the sound of old wood moving up and down, and once it's set up, you can remove the top and bottom and it still works (you won't be able to call the platform if it's not by your level) but it works for me since i just go one or two stories up and down. Love it, love it, love it... I hope he makes a version with rails :D
Great Minimilistic Elevator. A Few Minor Issues.
Having bought the steampunk elevator and been extremely impressed, when I needed something to simulate a medieval freight elevator I didn't hesitate to buy this.
This was almost as easy to set up as the previous one with a few caveats. The setup is pretty easy. Rez the base where you need the lowest floor, name it, place the first floor where you need it, name it, repeat untill all the floors are in, click build.
So far so good, except it creates an arm with a pully for the rope above the uppermost floor based on the rotation of that floor rather than the base. This winch arm can be reposistioned or even removed and doesn't affect the operation of the elevator. It would be nice if it's position were something you could set up just as you did the floors so you'd know what you were going to get. It's obviously designed to go into or just on top of a wall. If you want it freestanding, you'd need to create that structure yourself.
Which brings me to the reason for taking off the star. Positioning or deleting the pully arm is the only mod you can make to this. You can't re-texture anything. You can't link freight items to the platform to simulate that use (you can do this with the steampunk one, I tried it). This is an item that's supposed to be used in your own builds. It should be moddable to the maximum extent possible that won't flat out break it. The winches on each level, for instance, make no sense. Had I been able to edit it, I'd have moved one to the platform itself and gotten rid of the rest. That's not an option though.
There is also a minor glitch in that reset doesn't let you make a new elevator, you need to rez a new base, but that didn't really affect me too much.
In summary, this is a good product that does what it does very well at a great price. It could easily be a great product with a little more polish and being made moddable.
Buy this!
This elevator is excellent. Looks great, works great, and the creator was super helpful when setting it up. Well worth the price.
