Thank you for checking out the Merlin Marine Steam-powered Paddleboat. This touring boat is designed as an old-style, steam powered, paddlewheel driven river boat and decorated in a Steampunk theme with natural wood and bright copper fixtures.
A few things you may want to note: The coal bin is aft and includes a mechanism that supplies the boiler with a steady supply of coal so you won't have to shovel the fuel yourself. There is also room for 4 passengers--2 on the cushioned barrels and one each on the bow & stern of the boat--as well as the pilot who stands by the helm. The paddles turn forward and backwards as the boat moves accompanied by puffs of smoke from the smoke stack and a spray of steam from the whistle. And as with most steam engines, the whistle also serves as a safety valve, every few minutes sounding off to keep the boiler pressure at an acceptable level. You can also blow the whistle or ring the bell with just a click. The camera, situated directly astern, can be zoomed in or out to take in more of your surroundings.
She's a stylish vessel, simple to handle, with authentic sounds & customized textures and we hope she brings you many hours of adventure.
