This is my second fantasy weapon inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy. Although slightly more obscure, the "Barrow Blades" given to Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took by Tom Bombadil early on in their journey played a significant role much later in the story.
The Barrow-blades were described as "red in color, with long leaf-shaped blades damasked with serpents in red and gold and engraved, with flowing characters of Númenor".
These short swords had originally been made for the war against the Witch-king of Angmar by the Men of Westernesse and and were "wrought with spells for the doom of Mordor".
Each short-sword is made of three distinct parts, the full-tang blade, the hand guard and the wooden handle. Every piece is modeled and textured with an obsessive level of detail. The text you see is the authentic Tengwar dialect, it reads "Death to the foes of Númenor".
The design is not based on any other fantasy weapon, it is purely a construct of my imagination, based loosely on the description found in The Fellowship of the Ring.
Please Note: the item is not scripted, nor does it include animations.
