The [NV.Designs] - MD-01 Data Recorder is an advanced, self-expanding chat recorder.

What does "self-expanding" mean? It means you don't have to worry about running out of script memory while recording and losing your log.

The [NV.Designs] - MD-01 Data Recorder expands its memory when needed, and only when needed, ensuring that there's never an unnecessary number of scripts in the recorder just sitting there and doing nothing.

The [NV.Designs] - MD-01 Data Recorder will allow you to retrieve your logs with a simple web link that will allow you to get your logs without spamming your chat window or having to wait for a script to dump itself all over your screen.

The [NV.Designs] - MD-01 Data Recorder notifies all avatars that come into range that a chat session is being recorded and automatically states a recording disclaimer when a recording is started and every 5 minutes thereafter. The [NV.Designs] - MD-01 Data Recorder has a brightly flashing red light to indicate when the recorder is active. When turned off, the recorder does not flash and completely hides its hovertext.

The [NV.Designs] - MD-01 Data Recorder has options to rename and delete already existing log files so that you can manage and organize your files as needed.

  • Unlimited recording per file
  • Self-expanding script memory as-needed
  • Stores multiple files
  • HTTP data retrieval for no chat spam

Good but needs improvement.

This works great but there are some issues:

If the log goes on too long and you go back to play it, anything not in the main recording before any memory expansion happens is cut. No real way to get to it besides going into local chat and pulling it out that way.

It would be really nice to allow certain avatars or a group to be able to control it. I have a weird setup right now that is primed to deploy a recorder that is already recording at a single touch, but I need to come back and actually turn it off and pull the data off. Having people who I trust to control it would be great and then I can actually work it into our meeting area instead of a rezzing prim.

It would be great to also have a timeout feature where if it does not detect any presence of a avatar within say range to cut itself off after a certain time. That way if I do have to come by and pull the data off myself, I do not need to worry about a active listener and other scripting shenanigans going on in a busy sim.
