Neptune's Trident
Now with PBR materials, as well as traditional textures for non-PBR viewers. PBR really works well for this, being mostly metallic. Exactly where PBR shines (pun very much intended). Non-PBR still included and the PBR materials can be edited; it's all still mod perms.
Lovingly hand crafted from finest, salt water resistant copper and bronze. The blades are rare phosphor-bronze for a sharper and longer lasting edge. Adorned with twin sea horses and with Bento and System compatible holding animations for your convenience.
Throws an actual trident, on the end of a rope (or chain) from your hand. Then you pull the trident back to your hand again. It's so hard to capture that on a screenshot; I tried, but you really must try the demo and see for yourself. Best, get someone else to try it too, so you can see it from other angles as they throw it. Use the included SPD kit and have at each other, lol.
The trident uses the SPD combat system (although you don't *need* to use that; you could just enjoy throwing the trident at the practice mines and passing ships, lol). It can be used as a range or melee weapon. In range mode, the thrown trident can hit as a musket ball, or cannon ball (for use against ships etc.) I've included an SPD kit in the pack (it's available for free; I don't own it.)
There are two throwing speeds; slow (realistic, arced gravity flight) and a faster, flatter trajectory. The slower one is much more fun as it takes some actual skill to hit your target! Thrown tridents auto-adjust for different ranges and speeds to minimize the chance of hits not being registered by the target. Re-arm time is longer in anti-ship and fast flight modes, to keep things 'real' and on par with other SPD weapons.
The trident is controlled by a very low impact, minisable HUD. You don't *need* it attached; the trident will start in whatever mode you left it. It can also be controlled by chat commands on a definable channel, and could be programmed into gestures with those chat commands (that's how I use it, with function keys for different modes (gestures not included - do it yourself)).
The HUD can also rez a practice SPD mine in front of you. It explodes when hit with a thrown trident. Great for lone target practice. You can change the mine type if you buy my Sea Mine pack.
There are three animation versions included: A trident with Bento-only holding animations, another "Trident (System)" that works with Bento hands *and* with the system avatar hands, and an "AO Override" that overrides AOs that use high priority animations (they should *not* do that, but many do). The Bento-only version is better if you can use it (because reasons).
Two lengths of trident are also included (different shaft lengths, not just scaled ;)
Any problems, PLEASE contact me in world before leaving a bad review. If there's something needs a fix, I'll fix it.
Notes:
1. There's a demo. USE IT. Don't buy this without, and then complain there's something you don't like. If there *is* something you don't like, CONTACT ME!
2. The trident will only throw if you have rez permissions on the land. It rezzes a physical trident. If you can fire SPD weapons, you can use this.
3. READ the NC that comes with the trident. I wrote it for a reason!
4. The trident works across sims but will not return if it crosses a boundary. Don't worry, magic takes over and you still get one reappearing in your hand. The thrown tridents tidy themselves up if lost.
5. If you think it's broken because it won't attack, make sure you are in COMBAT mode (the top RED button).
5. The wearable items are mod perms (you can resize/tint the trident); the contents are not because of the combat scripts.
