This piece of kit is unlike any text renderer out there. Throw out that Xyzzy text and play with a real library.

Straightforward to use API (imperative programming style, just call some functions) and very flexible in customisation. For high performance, does not rely on linked messages but functions and global variables you copy into your script. You can build a link message wrapper if you wish for ease or due to memory usage but not recommended otherwise.
Has gone through three extensive generations to provide the highest quality script (library code being around ~300 lines).
Really great example given of a use case as a RSS reader. The RSS proxy PHP script is also supplemented to teach you how to achieve this yourself.

As other have mentioned, it is just an RSS reader. No API or anything else mentioned in the description.
Parts of this product are missing
When I bought this in 2014, I got the RSS reader HUD, along with multiple previous versions of the NexText project (some basic signs, a notecard reader, etc) along with the additional scripting libraries mentioned in the description. Upon requesting an automatic redelivery in 2024, it appears that all of these are missing; you just get the RSS reader. That explains all the bad reviews. I hope the creator notices. If anyone needs a copy of the NexText library with some improvements I've made, just sent me an IM.
I should have read the other reviews before buying
No documentation, examples that are hard to read because there are comments. And an API is certainly not there.
The idea is great, but it is hard to figure out and adapt to your own needs if not documented.
Wish there were more examples
Would be nice if you included an example of how to do just plain text.
Also next to 0 annotations. ill figure it out, but not really all that user friendly.

As others have already commented, it's not an API or a builders kit. It's a ready made RSS reader. Granted it looks nice, font is very good, readable, but.. don't expect to use this as a tool to build your own without some significant uphill battling and reworking. shame really.
