Great looking castle, but with a couple of challenges

I love the overall look of the castle and i bought it despite the scale comments. I have managed to scale it down, but the maker has overlooked a few elements that make it hard. I will list the steps:
1 The castle comes i four parts, three parts building and the mesh door frames as the fourth part. this is important as this part must be set to phantom or you won't get through the doors.
2 The smallest size in any direction allowed in SL is 0.010m, so when an object, say, a window pane has this thickness it cannot be scaled down. So, your first task is to edit linked, finding all the square window panes and change the thickness from 0.010 to 0.020. this also goes for the banner and the weather vane.
3 To control the resulting scale, I make a new root prim positioned in the middle of the building for each part. I make the z-thickness to, say 0.0125 if I want to scale it to 80 %, 0.020 if I want to scale it to 50%.
for each part, select the part, then the root prim holding shift, then press ctrl+L.you can then scale it down and it will stop when your root prim reaches it's limit of z= 0.010
4 As long as you have all your root prims in the same position, bringing to the same position after scaling will bring the parts of the castle together again nicely.
5 edit linked the root prims and de-link them so that you can remove them afterwards
6 Remember to set the mesh door frames to phantom.

Good luck!

massively oversized

The design and textures are fairly good however the dimensions of the entire castle are not proportional and often oversized. the exterior looks fine but the interior has been almost tossed off and the oversized stairs occupy 1/3 of a room.

Yes, the ceilings are high and the doors big but not so much so you are overwhelmed. The textures are amazing and the detail is excellent. Rooms are spacious but not cavernous. A whole lot of awesomeness for under 300 prims. If you are hesitating at all, go check out the in world demo. This is an awesome build!

love the high ceilings

The high ceilings were one of the things i like best about this wonderful build. I have a number of overscaled objects that fill this space perfectly. The textures are wonderful and the workmanship perfect. Could not be better.

Ater some resize work on the doors, stairs and railings there wasnt much i could do about the indeed 7 meter high rooms..they look very emty even furnished with that high. however. The whole design if this "house" Is simply amazing. I realy love it, and it fits perfectly into the steampunk design of my Place. If it would be a bit lower in the room design it would get the whole 5 stars. The texturing is great. I have some of those/similiar textures in my inventory as well and can luckily do some "invisible" changings. Add some steamy-mahines, waterweels etc. I can still recomment this as a good buy. Althought for the price i would wish a more realistic size. I was trying to find this building rezzed on the sim where its sold, ( the article description said: see the article inworld)but could not- i have to admit that i would probably not have buyed it that fast if i had seen the roomsizes.

Great building...

... but the rooms are 7.5 meter high, the doors 4.5 meters..... far away from realisitic (as far as you can say that for a structure like this).... looks good, but is not useable with such high rooms.
A lot of work to re-size it is necessary.

But: It looks great. Nonetheles.
