This off-sim landscape item (a reproduction of Yosemite National Park in the USA) instantly makes your island part of a big 3D panoramic environment. The amount of detail of the sculpted terrain is very high. It includes off-sim boulders, trees and animated waterfalls.

Properties:

• Change the surface textures of all landscape parts, including the waterfalls (254 textures available in the HUD), and you can even use your own textures
• Change the off-sim trees to 18 predefined different types: winter pines, fir trees, deciduous trees (both summer and autumn), palm trees… New types of trees will automatically become available in the HUD
• Switch to a different landscape scene/season
• De-rez landscape sections (for instance if you want to leave out the trees or waterfalls) and rez them again later
• Allow others to change the scene and surface textures
• Copy-permissions
• Advanced menu to enable the unscripted sit and multiple sit function (see below under Mega Prims. WARNING: using this feature in some cases causes spikes of lag. Try a demo first to be sure
• Remove redundant scripts to decrease script load on sim

Other characteristics are:

• Its size is 250x250m, sculpted to one side. A sim is 256 m wide, which means it stretches along its full width. Even though it extends beyond your sim borders, it cannot be seen from other islands that do not share one full border with your sim. Regions that just touch at the corners are no problem to use this item.
• A script takes the landscape to the best position on your land. You can rotate and move it afterwards like any other object in SecondLife. Do not drop it too close to the edge, it may go off-world and end up in your Lost and Found folder!
• You can combine this landscape with other off-sim elements, like waves and rock structures.
• Matching terrain textures for your land are available in the in-world store.

To your viewer this landscape is a set of sculpted prims with textures. Technically there is not much difference from, for example, a detailed set of furniture. The textures do not contain an alpha channel (except for the off-sim trees) and are not animated (except for the waterfalls). There are no particle systems in this item. The surface and sculpt textures take some time to load, but after that they cause no lag and do not obstruct your movements.

Mega prims

This landscape item is made of mega prims. There are some known issues:
• Unscripted sit and multi-sit do not work inside mega prims. This edition offers an option to prevent this. Try with the demo to see if this is a problem for you. Read this for technical information: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3811
• The way your island is represented on the world map may change. Read this for technical information: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5898

Looks great

Decided on 4 stars and not 5 because I wish I could choose a landscape that was more snow just on the mountain peaks and not lower ground. Just a personal wish. For what it is and the size of it, the photography is good too as I have seen some where they look really fake. Good HUD that gives lots of choices and is easy to use. Maybe a little bit pricey but then I can appreciate the work that's gone into making this.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this product. Shame there are not more mountain scenes 'out there'.
Thanks
