Expensive But Nice (Until You Really Look At It)
As a previous review says: out of the box it's really nice. 38 prim is efficient and the whole room has a very cozy feel. We were initially using it as an office, then a temporary residence. Were...
First issue: The mesh is wrap-around so you can't re-texture anything without affecting numerous other unrelated surfaces. If you want a custom treatment on a wall you need to put a textured prim in front of it.
Second issue: EVERYTHING has a baked-on shadow (including things that don't need them, like the wall tiles). This means you're stuck with ALL the decor items or ugly black shadows of them that you can't remove or re-texture over.
Third issue: this unit uses baked-on LIGHT. It looks all kinds of bright and welcoming, except that at night, you are -literally- in the dark. We had to install actual lights so we could see ourselves and what we were doing. It -looks- lit, but it's not. None of the "lights" in this unit produces actual light.
End result: An office we soon replaced with an almost identical (if less luxuriously appointed) unit. The replacement cost 600$L and was quick and easy to strip and retexture as well as only being 1/3 the prim.
Conclusion: We wanted to like this unit. We REALLY did. Unfortunately we can't seem to find a use for it with no way to remove the items we neither need or want. We also wanted to bring the Winter Loft into use but, again, if we can't customize it in at least little ways (and it, too, seems to have the lighting issue) then it's an over-priced expense we won't be making.
TL/DR: Unless you like it ->EXACTLY<- as it appears (complete with not being able to move/remove anything and standing in the dark in a "brightly lit" room), don't buy it. This was a costly mistake for us.
Surface value, it's nice, but no room for customization.
The house out the box is nice, but if you want to edit some things to personalize your home, like remove the statues, the water heater, the PC, you can't without heavily editing the mixed textures like shadows for every object on the walls? Not enough faces to manipulate. The grey changes if you edit the white walls. Hiding certain objects in the house leave this disgusting shadow texture that's part of the walls, was hoping to turn this into my new den, but I'll have to look elsewhere.
ABISS Number one
It has been years since i started using abiss builds.
Since i tried the first one i was hooked.
Nothing cant compare.
Everything works perfectly, no need to fiddle with it.
Awesome!
I love the skybox!~ The only thing that pissed me off, was that I couldn't zoom away from my avatar. But it's an easy fix!
If you run into this issue too and want to fix it on your own, follow these steps.
1. Look from the outside on the skybox.
2. Edit your Skybox.
3. Select "Edit Linked Parts" and then select only the white (outer) roof part.
4. Set the Physics Shape Type to "None".
5. Your camera movement should be fixed! ♥
Thanks for the awesome skybox! Totally worth it ♥
Wunderschön
Eine wunderschönes und gemütliches Skyhome. Sehr empfehlenswert, wer es gemütlich und kuschelig mag.
This is the one you're gonna wanna buy.
This is a beautifully crafted skybox. The structure footprint is 16.85 meters long by 12.50 wide meters with a height of 5.70 meters so this will fit pretty much anywhere. The textures are highly detailed and with pre-baked lighting in two schemes; day and night mode. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. The external of the structure is blank. The only point of criticism I have, is that Macs are garbage, but that's a discussion for another place and time. ;)
