Orunmila/Orunla/Orula/Ifa
Father of Secrets, the Ruler of Divination, wisdom, foresight; father of the Babalawos He was the only orisha to witness the creation of the universe; he is a witness to destiny. He guides reincarnating souls to their new lives. His colors are green and yellow, reflecting his relationship with Ozain (plants) and Oshun (knowledge).His number is 16.
He witnessed the creation of the universe by Olorun and knows the paths of destiny. His priests, the babalawos, or "Fathers of Secrets" devote themselves to divination and the use of the Table of Ifa. His followers wear an eleke (bead necklace) and an ideu (bead bracelet), also known as a Mano de Orula or cofa de Orula, on the left wrist, to protect against premature death. He knows past, present and future and guides reincarnating souls. His feast day is October 4; he is syncretized with St. Francis of Assisi.
